DELL INSPIRON 14Z - TOO LOVABLE

The $599 DELL Inspiron 14z has several positives: a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5-2410M processor, 6GB of DDR3 memory, and a capacious 640GB hard drive. And at 4.5 pounds without the power brick ( and 5.5 pounds with it), the Laptop isn't too hefty, either.

But due to the odd keyboard design, my thumb often hit the lip surrounding the keyboard instead of the spacebar, making typing a chore. Meanwhile, the touch pad's buttons required so much force to push that I had to make a conscious effort to press them effectively.

The bright, 1366-by-78-pixel backlit LED screen provides moderately wide viewing angels. Video looks good on it, however, as did upscaled DVD content.

The Inspiron 14z's performance in tests was about average for a 14-inch laptop. Dell parks the 14z's ports behind flimsy plastic covers that restrict access to the ports. Two USB 3.0 ports and once multipurpose audio jack hide beneath one cover on the right side, next to the DVD drive. The left side contains a USB 2.0 connector, HDMI and mini-Display port connectors, and an SD Card slot. Networking includes 802.11n, gigabit Ethernet, and Bluetooth Intel's WiMax adapter for wireless broadband is available as an option.

all these features comes with a surprising price of approx. Rs. 30,000/- only
